A little about the Kemlan brand...
Kemlan has been making fires in Brisbane for over 50 years and although not well known in Victoria, they are continuing to make a great product.
The fires are designed and built for Australian conditions and Australian hardwood, including the following features:
- Single Step Lighting Process: Load up the firebox with lighters, paper, kindling, small and large logs. Light a match, close the door and walk away. The fire won't need any attention for the first hour.
- Fast Heat Transfer: rather than keeping the heat in the firebox, Kemlan fires are designed to get the heat into the room. Fast.
- Folded Steel Firebox: made with folded 6mm plate steel so there are less points for failure over the longer term.
- Lifetime Baffle: The Kemlan fires use a special ceramic baffle which holds heat for longer and will never need to be replaced.
- Glass Air-Wash System: An advanced primary air-wash system runs warm air down the inside of the glass window to keep it clean and free of carbon build up.
- Efficient and Low Emission: A secondary air flow system which re-injects the flue gases into the firebox to burn all the carbon to increase energy output and reduce emissions.
- 10-year warranty.
They are different to the North Hemisphere heaters which are designed to shut down for long, slow burns and keep the heat in the fireplace. The Kemlan fires are designed to light really easily and start heating the room within minutes. They can also handle the energy output of Aussie hardwood without buckling or warping.
